Newport Pier 8/2/25

My favorite dive site in Orange County. Newport Pier is such a unique spot that hosts quite a lot of life, and makes for some unique experiences with animals interacting with the rubble and junk that gets dropped from random people above. I like to call this place nudibranch heaven but unfortunately this time of year is probably the worst for that. I only saw 6 different species this time, but on a good day I'll see 15+. This time though it was the crabs and octos were out in force, they were everywhere. Also the ochre star population seems to have exploded since the last time I dove here, they're all over the place!
